About Dr. Mihaela Garabagiu-Stanciu
Dr. Mihaela Garabagiu-Stanciu is a dentist with over 30 years of clinical experience and double specialty, in General Dentistry and Dento-Alveolar Surgery. Her practice focuses on oral surgery, implantology, Er:YAG laser therapy and complex dental rehabilitation.
After the first years of practice at Clinica Germană in București, in 2007 she founded the practice that today bears the name Atelierul de Zâmbete Colordent, originally registered as Cabinet Stomatologic Dr. Mihaela Garabagiu, today COLOR DENT SRL. Since then sshe coordinates the medical activity of the clinic in Sector 3, where dento-alveolar surgery, implantology, periodontology, prosthetics, endodontics and orthodontics work together on the same treatment plan.
In older conference and course programs she appears as Dr. Mihaela Garabagiu, and in recent ones as Dr. Mihaela Stanciu.
Medical activity also continues outside the clinic. Since 2011, she has been President and volunteer dentist of Fundația Mâna de Lucru, and since 2016 Vice President of the W.I.S.E. Romanian Social Hub association, where she coordinates the Social Dentistry program.
The vocation for medicine appeared early: her first plan was cardiovascular surgery. In the 3rd year of college, she chose dentistry, which she fell in love with, and has remained in this profession of "smile maker" ever since.

Dr. Mihaela Garabagiu-Stanciu's clinical experience includes complex and atraumatic extractions, alveolar preservation, pre-implant surgery, bone regeneration and sinus lift techniques, as well as All-on-X oral rehabilitations.
In implantology, she works both conventionally and digitally guided, including in the oral rehabilitation on implants of complex cases. Planning starts from the final prosthetic result. The surgical stage is built according to the work that will follow, the quality of the bone and the medical history of each patient.

Er:YAG Laser: Clinical Practice and Medical Education
Dr. Mihaela Garabagiu-Stanciu has been using the Er:YAG laser for 8 years, on hard tissue and soft tissue. The main applications are in dento-alveolar surgery, in the treatment of periodontal disease, in minimally invasive procedures and in the treatment of children. In certain indications, the laser can reduce the use of rotary instrumentation and increase patient comfort during treatment.
In addition to clinical practice, sshe trains other dentists. He enjoys mentoring early career and emerging doctors in surgery and complex restorative dentistry.
International manufacturer Light Instruments presents her as an instructor of LiteTouch Er:YAG courses organized in București, with theoretical and hands-on sessions. She gives workshops and presentations on the Er:YAG laser at national dental congresses.

Dentistry for people with disabilities
An important part of her work is the dental care of people with disabilities and special needs, including people with Down syndrome. For these patients, access to complex treatments is often difficult.
Communication, the sequence of stages and the work technique are adapted to each patient. The topic has also become a scientific topic: in 2019 she gave the lecture "Therapeutic attitude towards patients with special needs: Tips & Tricks" at the Congress of the Romanian Society of Dentistry, and in 2025 the paper "Laser therapy for people with disabilities, a Hi Tech chance".
The anxious patient
The medical training is completed by a master's degree in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapies, graduated in 2015 at the Faculty of Psychology of Universitatea Titu Maiorescu in București. The training is applied directly in the office: in doctor-patient communication and in the management of anxiety related to dental treatment.
The approach is used mostly with anxious patients, those with unpleasant dental experiences, children and patients with special needs. Treatment begins with trust: clear explanations, small steps and a rhythm established together with the patient.
